HooqBi searches the networks of people you have actually met, finds the shortest honest route to the person you are trying to reach, and asks on your behalf, with the name of the person you both know attached to the request.
FREE WHILE IN EARLY ACCESS · NO CONTACT IMPORT · NO DIRECTORY
01 · The problem
Their name, their company and their role are one search away. That was never the hard part.
Somewhere among the people you have met is someone who could introduce you. You have no way of finding out who, and no way of asking everyone.
You send it yourself, into an inbox that receives forty like it every day, with nothing attached that says you are worth a reply.
02 · How it works
Not a search term. A sentence about the outcome you want, and what would make someone the right person for it.
It walks your network and your connections' networks, never a database of strangers, and ranks what it finds, or tells you plainly that nothing fits.
The person you both know is told, and so is the person at the end. The request arrives carrying a name they recognise, not yours.
Accept, decline, or point you at someone better. On an accept the two of you are connected, and it stays that way.
Why this route. Sofia works in venture capital and has led rounds at Series A. The person at the end of it invests in fintech in this region. You met Sofia in person five months ago, so the connection is recent enough to be real.
Sofia Bianchi is a connection of yours. She knows someone raising a Series A who is looking for an investor with experience in this region.
Kick Fahad, raising a Series A for a payments company in the GCC. Wants one conversation with someone who has led a round here.
The edge is permanent and it remembers how it was made. Six months from now, when someone in your network needs a late stage investor, this is the route the system already knows about.
03 · Why people reply
The person you both know is not doing the work of writing an introduction. They are doing something smaller and far more useful: they are the reason the request is taken seriously.
Sofia Bianchi is a connection of yours.1 She knows someone raising a Series A who is looking for an investor with experience in this region.2
Kick Fahad, raising a Series A for a payments company in the GCC. Wants one conversation with someone who has led a round here.
The first thing read is somebody they actually know. The ask arrives already vouched for, which is the entire difference between this and a cold message.
Why this specific person, not why the sender is interesting. It takes four seconds to judge, and that is deliberate. A long pitch is a request for time nobody agreed to give.
Declining costs nothing and needs no explanation, and pointing at a better person is offered as an equal option. People answer honestly when saying no is easy.
04 · What this looks like
Real shapes, not testimonials. This is what you type and this is what the system returns.
Eleven investor conversations, none of them with anyone who had written a cheque in the region.
“Series A for a payments company in the GCC. Someone who has actually led a round here.”
You→Sofia Bianchi, partner at a London fund→Managing director, late stage
0.82 match · venture capital · series A · fintech · met in person five months ago
ReplyAccepted in four hours. “Sofia does not send me things often, so I read it.”
The role had been open for three months and the applicants were all wrong.
“Someone who has sold enterprise software into UAE banks and would consider a first-hire role.”
You→Noor Haddad, head of growth→Regional sales lead, core banking
0.74 match · enterprise sales · banking · UAE · open to a conversation
ReplyDeclined the role, then named two people who took the call. Both are now in the network.
The honest answer, which is the one that makes the other two believable.
“A contract manufacturer in Vietnam who will take a 2,000 unit first run.”
No route found. Nobody in your network, and nobody they have met, works in manufacturing in that region.
Kept open 30 days · re-checked as new people join your network · matched two weeks later
What it refused to doInvent a loose match, or hand you a list of manufacturers you have no route to.
05 · How it grows
Nothing is imported and nobody is suggested. Someone scans your code when you meet them, and they appear here, with where you met and when. That is the only way in, and it is the reason the matching can be trusted.
No import button. There is nowhere to upload a contact list, and no option to sync one.
No suggestions.Nobody is recommended to you, and you are recommended to nobody.
Both sides agreed.Every line here exists because two people chose to make it.
06 · Permission
Every other network treats your presence as permission. Here, being on HooqBi grants nobody anything. A request only moves when the person holding that step of the route agrees to let it, and it is checked again at every step.
The first refusal ends it. Nobody further along the route is contacted, nobody is told who refused, and the request does not come back a second time in a different shape.
Your profile is not listed, indexed, searchable or guessable. There is no page anywhere that lists HooqBi members. The only way somebody sees your profile is that you showed them your code, in person, on purpose.
There is no upload, no sync and no permission request for your address book. A network built from an inbox is mostly people you do not know, and every claim about relevance made on top of it is built on that noise.
Someone can put a request through to a person they know without ever revealing that they know them. You see the person who replied. You never see the list they came from, and there is no screen anywhere that would show it to you.
Your connections are not sold, ranked for advertisers, or used to enrich anyone else's database. The graph is yours and it stays inside your account, which is also why there is nothing to export.
Objectives expire on their own. Requests that repeatedly miss raise the bar you have to clear before you can activate anybody else's network again. The defence against spam is not a daily limit. It is that being irrelevant costs you reach.
You are one of four hundred names accumulated over nine years. Neither of you remembers agreeing to it. When a message arrives, there is nothing to go on.
Entering someone's network is a deliberate act by two people, and it is remembered in full. That memory is what makes it possible to reach them for a reason years later, and what makes the reason credible when you do.
07 · Who this is for
The founder who needs one investor who has done this before. The salesperson who knows the account and not the room. The recruiter whose best hire will never answer a message. The investor checking a founder before wiring. The consultant whose next contract is two people away.
HooqBi starts empty on purpose and fills up as you meet people. Nothing is imported and nobody is suggested. So if meeting people is not much part of your work yet, it will stay quiet for a while. We would rather tell you that now than after you sign up.
08 · What HooqBi does not do
Nothing to scroll and nothing to post. There is no version of this that rewards you for showing up daily.
The only thing measured is whether a conversation turned out to be worth having, and only the two people in it are asked.
You cannot message somebody you have not been introduced to. There is no button for it, anywhere.
The system finds the route and states the reason. What you say to the person once you are talking is yours.
A bigger network is not the goal. Twelve people you genuinely know beats nine hundred you do not, and the matching proves it.
Think of the person who could change the next six months of your work.
If a name just came to mind, you are in the right place.
