This describes what HooqBi does with your information in plain terms. For the exact list of every field we hold, see what we store.

What we collect, and why

Almost everything HooqBi holds about you is something you typed or something you did on purpose. There is one exception, below. We collect your email address so we can sign you in, your profile so other people can see who you are when you show them your code, your connections so your network exists, your objectives so the matching has something to work from, and the outcome of an introduction so we can tell whether the product works at all. If you add a photo, links or a phone number, we hold those too: the photo stripped of its camera data, the phone number shown to nobody until you accept an introduction.

Apart from that one exception, we do not collect anything you did not enter. There is no contact import, no address book access, no device location, and no behavioural tracking.

The exception: somebody can write your name before you join

When HooqBi finds a route to someone, the person in the middle is asked whether they can help. They can name somebody who is not on HooqBi. We store that name and a link, and nothing else about them. No phone number, no email address.

HooqBi does not contact that person. The message is sent by the person who knows them, from their own phone, using the number they already had. Only the person who typed the name can read it back, not the person who asked, not anyone else. The invite expires after thirty days, and works once.

It is the one thing in HooqBi you can find yourself in without having put it there, so it is named here rather than left to be discovered. If somebody has done this and you want it removed, email team@hooqbi.com and we will delete it.

Who can see what

What a model reads

HooqBi sends text to Claude Haiku, run by Anthropic in the United States, at two moments: when you state an objective, to turn what you wrote into something the matching can use, and when a route is found, to judge whether the match is real before anybody is emailed.

The second call is the one worth being precise about. It is sent descriptions of up to twenty-five people, each under a number: headline, company, location, bio and tags. It is not sent names, account ids, email addresses, photos, phone numbers, or anything about who is connected to whom, and it can only answer with the number it was given, so it is not able to name anybody. Anthropic says it does not train models on what is sent through its API.

Your connections are never sent. Your notes are never sent. No message you write is sent, because HooqBi does not carry messages. The full field list is in what we store.

Who processes it

Three companies handle your data on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication and stored photos, Frankfurt), Microsoft Azure (hosting, Germany West Central), and Resend (all email delivery, United States). Anthropic receives what the section above describes, in the United States, and nothing else.

Resend sends every email HooqBi sends, so it handles your email address. Supabase’s authentication service generates and checks your sign-in code and hands the message to Resend, which delivers it from no-reply@hooqbi.com. Introductions come from hello@hooqbi.com, so a complaint about one cannot affect delivery of the other.

Supabase and Azure are in the EU. Resend and Anthropic are in the United States and receive only what is described above. Nobody else receives anything.

Your connections are not sold, rented, shared with advertisers, or used to enrich anybody else’s database. There is no arrangement under which that could happen, which is also why there is nothing to opt out of.

Cookies

One cookie, holding your session so you stay signed in. There are no analytics cookies, no advertising cookies and no third-party scripts on this site, which is why you were not asked to accept anything.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it. Objectives expire on their own and stop being matched, but the record stays until the account goes. An invite naming somebody who has not joined expires after thirty days.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of everything we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it and your account with it. Email team@hooqbi.com and we will do it within thirty days, usually much sooner. Both are handled by hand at the moment; self-serve export and deletion are not built yet.

Deleting your account removes your profile, your notes, your objectives and your side of every connection. Where a connection formed between you and somebody else, the other person keeps their own record that it happened. We cannot edit their history of who they met.

Changes

If this changes in a way that affects what we do with your information, we will email you rather than quietly updating the date at the top.
